Emergency medical services are clearly a necessity for people in the County, but only one out of ten people actually use these services in a year. Rather than burden all taxpayers with the cost of these services, the County Commissioners have agreed to bill only those people who use them. Fees are intended to be high enough to offset the actual cost of services but no higher.
Health Insurance Companies and Medicare are billed directly by EMS. About 30% of the people served are not covered by these types of insurance. Those individuals are responsible for their EMS Bill. There is a payment plan that can be negotiated between the individual and the Billing Agency.
EMS billing and collection has been contracted with Specialized Billing and Collections of Texas. Please contact them directly at 1-800-999-2417 for any questions about your bill.
Basic Charges:
Basic Life Support Basic Rate: $600.00
Advanced Life Support Basic Rate: $700.00
Transportation: $12.00 per loaded mile from pick-up to drop-off.
No Transport Fee (Aid Only): $87.50
Disposable items: Billed as used.
