The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) recognizes August 21 as International Homeless Animal Day. Organizations around the world come together on the third Saturday of August to raise awareness about the pet overpopulation epidemic.

Williamson County is hosting its own Learn to Fish event in the Southwest Regional Park, 3005 CR 175, in Leander on Saturday, August 28, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children of all ages will be able to spend time learning various fishing tips and techniques from local experts.

Commissioner Lisa Birkman invites the public to attend her first Coffee with the Commissioner event on Wednesday, August 25, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the J. B. and Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex, 1801 E. Old Settlers, Round Rock, TX 78664. Information on the County budget will be available for review.

As of Thursday, July 22, 2010, County Road (C.R.) 374 at C.R. 366 will be closed due to construction of Chandler Road Phase 3B. Traffic will be diverted to SH 95.
