Arson Our Arson Detectives consists of detectives specialize in fire cause and origin investigation. Detectives investigate to identify, locate, and arrest arson offenders. Arson detectives interview witnesses, victims and suspects, collect and preserve evidence, and obtain detailed information for each investigation to write thorough reports and maintain files on fires investigated. The unit investigates fires in Williamson County and is also called to investigate fires in some incorporated cities.

Crime Analysis Our on-staff analyst provides a key function that involves systematic analysis for identifying and analyzing patterns and trends in crime and disorder. Information on patterns assist the sheriff’s office in deploying resources in a more effective manner, and assist detectives in identifying and apprehending suspects. The crime analysis also identifies solutions to crime problems, and formulates crime prevention strategies.

Cyber Crimes Our Cyber Crimes Detectives investigate crimes involving online exploitation of children and conduct computer and cell phone forensics. Our team of detectives investigate online solicitation of minors and possession of child pornography. Detectives interview witnesses, victims and suspects, collect and preserve evidence, and obtain detailed and accurate information throughout each investigation in order to write thorough reports. The unit investigates cyber crimes in Williamson County and other incorporated cities as well.

Financial Crimes The Financial Crimes Section Detectives are responsible for investigating all financial crime cases that are received. A financial crime can be forgery of a check, credit card crimes, computer fraud or any other crime where cash or services were obtained fraudulently.

Gang Crime The Gang Section Detectives were established to: suppress criminal gang activity, investigate gang-related crimes, and gather intelligence on known and suspected gang members. The Gang Unit maintains partnerships with, local school districts, social service agencies, probation officers, trial courts and the district attorneys’ office.

Juvenile Crime The Juvenile Section Detectives primary function is the investigation of crimes which are committed by individuals under the age of 17. In addition, the unit also conducts investigations involving runaway or missing children. The unit works closely with the juvenile courts, child protective service, local school districts, and the juvenile probation department.

Prostitution The Prostitution Section Detectives are tasked with investigating prostitution in Williamson County. The primary emphasis of the unit is the enforcement of crimes related to street prostitution and online solicitation for sexual acts. The unit continues to place emphasis on arresting and prosecuting all levels of prostitution and internet solicitation of prostitution. The unit not only investigates prostitution in Williamson County and other incorporated cities as well.
