Judge Michael Jergins

Michael Paul Jergins, Judge of the 395th Judicial District Court, was born on November 29, 1955.

Judge Jergins was appointed by then Governor George Bush as Judge, of the newly created 395th Judicial District Court, on January 1, 2000. Immediately prior to his appointment, he was a solo practitioner in the private practice of law in Round Rock, Texas.

Judge Jergins served 16 years as a prosecutor in Williamson and Tarrant Counties. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1981. After graduation he worked as an Assistant District Attorney for Tarrant County, where he became the Chief Prosecutor for one of their District Courts. He was an Assistant United States Attorney from 1990 until 1993. In 1993, he joined the Williamson County District Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted numerous high-profile cases. He is a former member of the Round Rock Planning and Zoning Commission.

Judge Jergins resides in Round Rock. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Yvonne. In 2000 they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. In 1990, they had twins, David and Ashley. David is involved in scouting and numerous youth sporting activities. Ashley is active in dance, piano and other artistic endeavors. Yvonne is very active in school, and is a member of Round Rock Chaparrals. As a result, time out of Court is seldom uneventful. When time allows, Mike spends time in his darkroom where he enjoys black and white photography. They are all avid skiers.
