Williamson County District Attorney, John BradleyThe District Attorney is responsible for prosecuting felony criminal offenses that are committed in Williamson County. A felony means any offense that is punishable by a sentence of death or confinement in prison or state jail. Such offenses include murder, robbery, sexual assault, burglary and major drug and theft offenses. [Misdemeanor offenses generally are prosecuted by the County Attorney]. The District Attorney of Williamson County is John Bradley. He was appointed to the office by Governor Rick Perry in December of 2001 and then was elected in November 2002. For more information on the District Attorney, click on the Staff link.

The District Attorney hires assistant district attorneys, investigators, and support personnel to prosecute the felony criminal offenses in the District Courts. The cases are assigned to a District Court after presentation to and indictment by a grand jury. For more information on the prosecutors and their assignments, click on the Staff link.

The District Attorney provides information and support to victims of crimes and hires a trained professional to work as a Victim/Witness Coordinator.

The District Attorney also serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center (WCCAC). The WCCAC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe place for children to report abuse. For more information, click on the WCCAC link.

If you wish to request records from the District Attorney's Office under the Texas Public Information Act, please refer to the following requirements and guidelines.

Public Information requests must be in writing.  Include a clear description of the records you are requesting and your contact information: name, address and phone number. We do not accept public information requests over the telephone or via email.  Requests must be mailed or delivered in person to our office at 405 MLK St., Box #1, Georgetown, TX 78626 or sent by facisimile to (512) 943-1255.

The Internet Crime Complaint CenterThe Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is an alliance between the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). IC3’s mission is to address crime committed over the Internet. IC3 is a central referral agency for law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local and international level, for complaints involving Internet related crimes. IC3 provides a convenient, easy-to-use, online reporting mechanism that will alert proper authorities of suspected violations.
